All funding raised from the Day of Excellence event, would go towards our FAME scholarship fund. The F.A.M.E. (Family Academics Motivation, and Environment) scholarship is a dedicated scholarship fund for former ACE program participants. The scholarship provides supplemental funds that can be utilized by students to cover costs associated with their post-secondary educational paths. We realize that as students continue their education there are often unexpected costs and obstacles that can get in the way of successfully completing programs.

ACE Academy and Black Men Run (BMR) - Seattle will be collaborating through a 5k Fun Run called the Day of Excellence Fundraiser

The 2025 Black Male Educator Summit celebrates the invaluable knowledge, strength, and resilience of Black men in education. This year’s theme, Wisdom of Black Men, underscores the unique perspectives, cultural insights, and transformative leadership that Black male educators bring to schools and communities.

Black educators play a vital role in shaping the academic success, identity, and empowerment of students, yet they continue to face systemic barriers in education. This session will explore the experiences, challenges, and contributions of Black educators while providing actionable strategies to foster more inclusive and affirming learning environments.

About Dr. William Jackson

Jackson has been an administrator at Nathan Hale for nearly eight years, and principal since July 2020. Student test scores, while still lagging in some areas, have made some significant increases during that time, including from 43% in English language arts in the 2020-21 school year to 66.5% in 2022-23.

He attributes the gains to the hard work of teachers focusing on inclusion and rigor — making sure all ninth grade students earn honors-level ELA credits and providing extra support to students who need it, particularly students from demographic groups that have historically fallen behind.

During his tenure, Jackson earned his doctorate of education and superintendent certification through the Leadership for Learning program at the University of Washington, for which he now serves as an adjunct faculty member.

This dynamic workshop, tailored specifically for Black educators, aims to provide actionable financial literacy tools to help participants manage their finances effectively, build long-term wealth, and secure their futures. Led by a seasoned Black financial advisor, this session will address the unique challenges faced by educators, particularly in managing student debt, retirement planning, and creating a pathway to financial independence.
